Dr. Christian J. Smith has been the Chairman of the Board since the inception of the Bank on 12th June, 2002. An astute and professionally qualified banker who studied Banking at the Polytechnic, London, The City of London College, Moorgate and the South West London College. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (London). Dr. Smith started his banking career in 1953 with British Bank of West Africa and later worked with National and Grindlays Bank Limited, London and Ghana Commercial Bank London between 1956 and 1961. He returned to Sierra Leone in 1961 to join Barclays Bank D.C.O., Freetown and later moved to Bank of Sierra Lone in 1964 where he became the General Manger by 1966 before been seconded as the pioneer Managing Director of Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Limited from where he retired in 1990. He was later appointed Managing Director of National Development Bank Limited in 1994.  He was awarded National Honours of Commander of the Rokel (CR) in 1985 by the President of Republic of Sierra Leone. Dr. Smith has brought his wealth of professional experience to bear on the Board and Management of the Bank as the Chairman

Mr. Uchendu is a dynamic and accomplished banker with over 20 years of commercial and merchant banking experience. He holds a B.Sc Degree and MBA (Banking & Finance) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He joined the services of FIB Group in January 2005 and became the Managing Director/CEO of First International Bank (SL) Limited in November 2006.
